SW Locums are looking to recruit an experienced, HCPC Registered Qualified Social Worker to work in Camden.
The post will be to provide a social work service to children and families arising out of the Council’s duties and powers under legislation and regulations, Council and Departmental policies and procedures.
To hold a caseload, including cases in court proceedings, and undertake a range of duties and responsibilities on behalf of the Department specified in the Children’s Act 2004, Every Child Matters and such other legislation as is or may be appropriate to work with children and their families.
Undertake assessments of children looked after by Camden to inform the development of appropriate care/protection plans to ensure statutory duties are met and these support the achievement of quality standards and practice development.
The role involves regular direct work, joint working, home visits and reflective sessions with clients, colleagues and partners.
The post holder will be expected to undertake s47 Child Protection Enquiries, Child and Family Assessments. Court work is also a likelihood so experience in this area is an advantage.
The post holder will be expected to attend relevant meetings such as Initial and Review Child Protection Case Conferences, Child In Need Meetings/Reviews, court hearings, as well as hospital/health led psycho-social meetings with our health colleagues within the hospital. A high level of written and verbal communication skills is essential for this post in addition to strong organisational/time management skills.
