SW Locums are looking to resource the services of a Social Work England Registered, Senior Social Worker for a position is based in the Family Support and Protection team in County Hall, Chelmsford.

The team are looking for someone to interview and start immediately.

Must hold 5 years demonstratable references.

Candidates must have current experience in a Senior Practitioner position based in a FS&P team.

Candidates also need current court experience and experience and expertise to support NQSWs.

Newly qualified social workers will not be considered for this position.

All candidates must have a less 2 years post qualified social worker experience. Due to the current pandemic we can offer flexible and remote working however candidates will be expected to conduct assessment and visits as and when required.

Candidates will need to be willing to travel into the office when requested.

All social care roles in ECC require driving, please ensure you have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Specific requirements: 

  •  Evidence of recent practice at an experienced social worker level, supported by comprehensive working knowledge and experience within the field of practice in Children Services.
  • Preferably with experience of Child Protection work including section 47 investigations and assessments since the implementation of the Children’s Act 1989.Considerable, recent experience of communicating with children of all ages and working in partnership with parents and/or carers.
  • Experience in planning activities and programmes for children, young people and parents.
  • Experience of Court work in relation to Child Care matters and have an understanding of the legal process.
  • Detailed knowledge of current legislation pertinent to Child Protection (e.g. CA1989, CJA1991), Guidance and Regulations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development, relating theory and practice.
