SW Locums are currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Practitioner to work within the Safeguarding and DoLs Team in Merton.

To support the Team Manager with ensuring there is an awareness of safeguarding adults within the Council and partner organisations across the London Borough of Merton and to ensure there is an effective response.

To develop constructive working relationships with community health colleagues, particularly in the acute hospitals and with G.P’s.

Also to support with  developing documentation of safeguarding practice and procedures that will protect adults from abuse and neglect,

To assist in the day to day running of case management activities under the advice and guidance of the Team Manager.

To provide cover in the absence of the Team Manager.

To carry out the statutory duties of a qualified social worker and Best Interest Assessor.

As a Senior Social Worker, your role will involve interaction with:

• NHS partners, including Merton CCG, Acute Hospital safeguarding leads, Community Health Service Providers, GPs and primary and secondary care provider
• Voluntary sector and private providers
• Service users, carers and carers groups
• Relevant government departments, including Department of Health, Department of Works and Pensions and the public Guardianship Office
• Other local authorities
• Section 12 doctors
• External BIA’s
