SW Locums are searching for a UK Experienced, Social Work Team Manager who has recent  experience in managing a fast paced referral and assessment team. Candidate must have high standards around good practice and be passionate about achieving good outcomes for children and young people.

All Applicants must have demonstratable minimum 5 years UK Social Work Experience in a Statutory setting and hold Social Work England Registration.

You must have right to work in the UK

Candidate must have supervisory experience as will be responsible for managing a Team of 5 Social Workers.

Minimum requirements: 

  • Knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance and the
    London Child Protection Procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors and risk and protective factors.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current issues in children’s social work practice, particularly in relation to child protection and planning of interventions.
  • Knowledge of roles and responsibilities of key children’s agencies.
  • Knowledge of best practice for assessment and care planning, and some understanding of and commitment to the approaches within Southwark’s practice framework: systemic practices including Signs of Safety, restorative practices, and trauma/attachment-informed approaches including Secure Base.
  • Experience of professional leadership, holding accountability for the practice and development of
    others, in order to drive service improvements and embed best practice throughout the team.
  • Experience of preparing reports and presenting these within formal settings, such as court proceedings, fostering or  adoption panels, youth justice panels, or other formal settings.
